Cricket?

Postby Bender » Mon Jun 17, 2002 10:57 pm

I was just wondering if any of you baseball fans (and yes, I'm one too now) have watched cricket before? And, if so, do you like the game?

They have their similarities, but also are very different. I still love cricket, but I must say I am becoming addicted to baseball! ;-D

Isn't it true that a lot more people all over the world play cricket than baseball?I like cricket but I don't get games that last thrre days and end without a winner or loser!

I watched Cricket in a bar once with my British boss. He tried to explain it, but between the beer, ploughman's platter, and the wickets, I just couldn't stay focused. Seemed interesting, but I seem to remember something strange about homeruns not being as cool as they are in MLB.

Well there are two forms, a test match which can be five days or a one dayer, which are a lot more popular now because they are more exciting.

And, yeah, the equivalent of a home run is a six, which is still very good, but not quite the same as getting a homer. Still, hitting the ball into gaps is still one of the best things you can do in either sport.

Does fantasy cricket exist? I know fantasy (European) football is big in Great Britain, but haven't seen cricket...
