Ordonez, who left Wednesday's game against the Indians after colliding with teammate Willie Harris while going after a flyball, isn't seriously injured according to the Associated Press. Ordonez is considered day-to-day with a bruised knee.

AHHH! BIG-A$$ SIGH OF RELIEF!!!

I was watching that game and it appeared to me that Harris clearly got the worst of it. Maggs didnt seem to bothered by it but was leaving for pre-cautionary reasons. Harris meanwhile had a very noticable limp and walked very slowly off the field. I guess if you had to take something away from it, both players walked off on their own power. Sorry thats about all I know and saw as I turned that game after that to watch another of the 9 games going on.

But I must say.. HELL of a catch by Harris to hang on to that ball.

I remember one of the first things I ever learned playing little league was how to CALL PEOPLE OFF to avoid collisions, dropped balls, etc. maybe this simple notion gets lost along the way somewhere????

Sure that's easy when it's a lazy fly ball between 2 fielders.

You don't CALL PEOPLE OFF if you can't get to the ball.

Both players "have" to go hard after the ball. As everyone knows, it's the outfielders ball if he can get there. In this case, he couldn't have quite made it and likely never did call for the ball. Harris made an incredible catch to get to the ball but because both guys are running full out for a ball that's in the exact perfect spot for a collision it's unavoidable.
