I'm actually pretty concerned about it for my fantasy team, since it's AL-Only. Losing Beltran to the NL would pretty much kill my team completely if I couldn't pawn him off.
Help with my team please:

As much as I would love to see that happen, I can't see George paying around $30 million for CF. That includes @$14 million for Bernie and Lofton.
Lofton (I believe) only has a one year deal and there is no way they keep him past this season. The only concern I have about Beltran is George might want to spend some money strengthening the pen (which needs major work) so he might not be as temped by Beltran as he should be.
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

I am quite certain that Lofton signed a 2-year deal (why they offered it I don't know) for $4-5 million. I also don't see how their pen needs work. They have Rivera, Gordon, Quantrill, White, and Heredia and, 1 of these days, Karsay is gonna come back. That's better than all or most. Before this season, I agree that they needed help but they made some good pickups.
Taking into account the Royals past trading history...does anyone think it will be anyone other than the Oakland A's?...
Royals star OF = trade to the A's

None has yet to name a player the the Yankees can trade for Beltran. They have a bottom 4 farm system. The Red Sox at least have some top 100 prospects, and young players.

It is a 2 year deal and I agree with frog99 that the Yanks don't have the prospects to land Beltran.

Neither the Yankees nor the Red Sox are very likely to pull off a trade for Beltran this season. But they will be the top two favorites to land him as a FA.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Few people are saying that the Yanks will trade for him. He is gonna be a FA after the season, though. Right??
