It was mentioned that the Angels have contacted the Brewers about acquiring Keith Ginter or possibly Wes Helms for one of the Angels starters.
It came from Bob Uecker so it must have some truth. The names thrown around were mainly Lackey and Sele, but Washburn or Escobar were also discussed.
Seeing Washburn has 7 wins, I don't see that happening, but it would be cool because Washburn pitched in college here in WI.
Would be a great deal for both clubs. Helms ain't playing up to potential and needs to be dealt imo. Washburn is too good to let go but someone like Sele would fit in great with the Brewers.
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!
I would love to see it happen.
I would really hate to lose Ginter, (Helms would not bother me as much)but the Brewers have alot of depth in the infield with Hall,Counsell,Spivey and in the minors they have Weeks and an injured JJ Hardy.
I'll tell you one thing if something happened either way which would guarantee Ginter starts everyday, I would be picking him up in as many leagues as I could. He can mash, and he's eligible at 2B and 3B in most.

How about the $19M Escobar is getting - there's no way in hell that the Selig's would throw around that kind of money. I don't think Sele ($24M) is going to be traded to the Brew Crew either.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."

I don't think he's a very good option unless you're desperate for 2B help. His average will be awful by the end of the season and the 6 HRs in 100 ABs is a fluke. This guy has been in the minor leagues forever (he's 28 now) and never had a lot of success. He has a little bit of pop but that's about it.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

OK, thanks. I have Vidro and B Roberts, but they have frustrated me all season, and after I picked up Roberts he has really slowed down. At least I had him for the 4 SB game.
