This is only my 2nd year playing fantasy baseball. One thing that struck me is the amount of variation in the depth of certain positions. Last year 3B was very shallow, and I must've tried just about everyone from Koskie to whoever. But for SS I was able to pick up O. Cabrera as a FA.
This year I duly got a 3B in Chavez, and underpaid for a SS in Angel Berroa. But it seems it's just the opposite as last year. Everyone seems to have an excellent to good 3B, to the point that Castilla was in FA til a short while ago. Meanwhile my SS is Uribe. Kind of funny how much things change over just one season.

Who do you suggest at SS who's better than Uribe? There are in the FA pool.
Jack Wilson (slowing down I think)
Vizquel (old)
Lugo (maybe)
Valentin (this is a roto league, so he's less valuable)
Matsui (risky)
Interesting point. I have a surplus of 3B on one of my teams and I can't find another manager to deal with -- they all have (f)good hot-corner hitters.
On the other hand, I don't think that SS is that much different from last year. The problem is that there are a few rooks (Greene, Crosby...) that might do better later on in the season (kinda like berroa last year). There are also a few underperformers (jeter, rentaria, berroa, even cabrera).
There are also some undervalued SS, like izturis...
keep in mind that the second best SS in the leagues has been on the DL so far this season... that doesn't help.

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.
