Royals: Relaford leading off
by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com
Tuesday, May 18, 2004

News
In an effort to jumpstart the slumping Royals' offense, Kansas City manager Angel Berroa has promoted second baseman Desi Relaford to the leadoff spot while dropping shortstop Angel Berroa down to the eighth position in the order. "Right now we are just looking for production," Peña told the Kansas City Star. "We moved Berroa down so he can relax a little more. We moved Desi to the top of the order because he has been swinging the bat well lately, and he has been taking a lot of pitches."

Views
Berroa, last year's American League Rookie of the Year, is hitting just .194 this season, including a dreadful .179 in May since returning from the injured list. Relaford isn't exactly tearing it up either. He's producing at a paltry .204 clip on the season and has just two hits in his last six games. The top spot in the Royals' offense—directly in front of Carlos Beltran, Mike Sweeney, and Juan Gonzalez—has great potential, so fantasy owners should keep an eye on whether either of these middle infielders can emerge.

He's managing... I guess this explains the lack of production... his mind is elsewhere.

Well at least someone is trying to manage the team. Maybe now Sweeney will never see another game at first base. Now we just need to get Randa to take over the GM role and start making some roster moves and show royals fans that something is being done for the rest of this year and those in the future.

Beats me, especially considering this was a Fanball.com post.

I do agree that Rotoworld is contagious though - I've lost count of the number of viruses and spywareprograms that stupid site has infected my computer with.

The layers are getting deep here......A Fanball story disguised as a Rotoworld story with Berroa disguised as the KC Manager. :-S

And people wonder how the news gets misread. Lol. :-D

If this happened to such books like the Bible I really have to wonder how accurate those are now.

To those who might find that upsetting, my apologies, I'm not trying to start anything about religion.
