i wish the mets would give a time frame of some sort. for weeks, it's been "a week or two", and it just keeps killing me. if i can just have an idea as to what's going on, it will make the wait that much easier.
last i heard he was goin to see the same specialist that jason Kidd saw during his ijnury,. He uses some type of japanese healing methodd & vowed to have reyes healed in 4-6 weeks. It wokrd w Kidd who was supposed to be out for the year but made it back in 3 weeks
Really man, I dont know what people are so worried about him for.Even when he does come back he isnt going to save any teams. Its obvious he has a serious problem.I read that he had some kind of deficiency where the bones and ligaments dont even line up right. It isnt like hes Nomar or something and really gonna be a boost wehn he comes back.

A boost? Say you're like me and you had Womack at short for the first month and a half, and are debating whether to pick up Guillen. Yeah, he's a boost.
Reyes has some pop in his bat. but im sure its going to be a rafael furcal type thing. where they're going to preach to him to spray hit, and get on base to use his wheels since they already have enough power threats. with that being said, i dont see reyes running to much this year, even when he comes back, since they will want to baby his hammy.
i really dont see much value other then a decent amount of runs, and AVG.....but what history tells us is, even when he gets back, there's gonna be a good 2-4 weeks before he's playing like the reyes we expect. also, most of his value going into this year was his 2B eligibility, since most leagues have a 15-20 game eligibility limit, it will take another 2 weeks after he comes off the DL before he gets 2b eligibility.
but if you have an open DL spot, and thin on the MI he's definitely worth picking up. who knows how high his ceiling is, and he can go on a crazy tear the last few months of the season.

This is a very good point. Say he comes back in a month... tack on two weeks. Ouch.
I was never sold on him. I would get my earlier posts on him but I don't have the time. The Mets are always snakebitten and he is no exception. He uses speed in his game yet he can't stay healthy. At the age of 20, he has had way too many strains, sprains, etc. to excite me.

I agree to a point. The Mets are cursed and I think you have to work this in when you judge any Mets player (no I am not joking). If the Mets can correct this problem he will be for real because the kid has the tools be great. But I don't think it will be this year. I do think he will be a great steal in drafts next year.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
