David Wells Injury - DL (but not too serious)

Postby slomo007 » Mon May 17, 2004 10:18 pm

From Rotoworld:

David Wells - S - SD
May. 17 - 10:06 pm et

David Wells cut his right wrist and left palm, apparently in an accident at home, and is expected to miss his next two starts.
Wells is expected to go on the DL tomorrow. The Padres could call up a reliever for a few days, but they'll need a fifth starter on Saturday and they figure to turn to Dennis Tankersley then.

I wanted to give an update on this....

rotoworld.com wrote:David Wells - S - SD May. 18 - 9:56 am et

David Wells had surgery yesterday to repair a wrist tendon he severed in a home accident involving glass.
The tendon is in his non-throwing wrist, but Wells also needed some stitches to close a wound on his left hand. He'll go on the DL today.

The good news is that it's not his back.

The better news is that anyone that drafted him expected him to miss starts here and there to rest his back.

Even though it is a cut, look at this short stint on the DL as preventative therapy for his back.

Now the long wait until Yahoo DL's him. Looking at C. Lee to replace him for now.
