I was just watching the 18Ks that sheets put up today. (on top plays of the week) It seemed to me that the vast majority (if not all) of the strikeouts came on one pitch. the clip was accelerated, but I think the pitch was a curveball... is that really the case? anyone pay any attention to that?
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

Yep it was his curve that did all the damage.
Bobby Cox said it was the best breaking ball the Braves had seen all year.

Yeah the 95-98 Mph heater set it all up though. He threw something like 17 first pitch strikes to his K victims as well. Simply a great performance from a rising star.

I think I heard that it was the greatest number of K's in a single performance in three years.
Glad he is on my team!

yeah he k'd most on a curve, but it seemed to me it wasn't your normal curve. more like a power curve, that starts out like a normal pitch but then drops off the table. it also doesn't hurt that more then half the line up shouldn't even be in the bigs

but what ya gonna do, injuries happen. anyway you look at it, it was a great pitching performance.
