I am thinking of dropping Herges and picking up Burnett....I think Burnett is going to come back and flamethrow..I just don't know if I should take up a roster spot just yet....decisions...decisions

I just picked him up and another guy in my league cursed me for taking him because he was just about to. With his return being in around 2 weeks I would pick him up now.

Yep.. i noticed on CBS when i picked him up only 28% owned him. That was 2 days ago. Now theres 40% ownage. What the 2% that have him started are thinking I'll never know. But anyway, get him while you can if you have some piece of crap clogging up your team. For me that was Nomo. Burnette may not be good this year.. but considering his stuff and his 03 stats when his ERA was 3.30 and whip was 1.19 over 200IP.. He's a lot better for me than Nomo.

Someone made a good point on here about Wood's numbers after his return, should expect similar stats but they would be the absolute downside:

Definitely worth stashing though, pesky Marlins look like they could stay the course in the East.

Burnett's a much better pick up than Armas for a few reasons:
1) Burnett's injury was an elbow -- Armas' was a shoulder I believe.
2) Burnett's got a better team and one of the most pitcher friendly parks in baseball

As someone posted above (2000 stats) is a nice estimate for this year. He may not get as many wins as 2000, but the other stats look right on.

I've got him stashed, but don't expect him to save your rotation. I'd say hope for him as a spot starter (start him at home). It wouldn't surprise me a bit if he was one of the Top 5 NL starters in 2005 however.

He just got put on the 60 day DL so I think it will be a little longer than 2 weeks before he makes his return, unless you have an open DL spot I would wait on it.
