In addition to not finding a better FA, you also won't find a player who is more prone to streaks. I picked him up for the last month of the season last year and rode him through a hot streak. I kept him for the first two weeks of this season and managed to trade him for Brandon Webb and Johnny Damon. Wait until he has another hot streak and ship him to someone who doesn't know how streaky he is.

I dumped Hidalgo and picked up Gerut. Did I do good?

I think so. Of course, I count in the "good" column things like not getting an ulcer and not pulling your hair out. Just don't watch him those weeks when Hidalgo plays like the second coming of the Natural and you will be happy.

I just dropped Hidalgo for Brett Boone. I have too many great outfielders. I could not believe someone dropped Brett Boone because he is injured.

The man was shot with a gun after that great season, calm down. He'd still be that good, and still is good in other ways. I wouldn't expect to put up numbers like 2000 but numbers relative to last year seem reasonable.
