What do you guys think of him? He got off to an amazing start hitting .460. He was player of the week for the first week of the season. Now all of a sudden, he is frustrating and his average has plummeted to .289. Will he wake up again or is he going to stay like this? I know that he cannot keep up his .460 average, but what stats can be expeted from him at the end of the season? Thanks!
yes, I have been waiting for someone to call this dog out. He is watching pitches as if he has the eye of tony gwynn. He K's entirely too much. It's getting close for me to drop him. Just, so I can watch him kill another fantasy owners team.
I am on the verge of clicking that drop button too. He took up space on my bench 5 out of the 7 days this week. When I played him the two days, I was cursing myself for it.
Hidalgo's numbers last year were pretty darned good. No chance he's just going through a cold streak right now and will pick it back up or is this what people are expecting from him this year?
He looks an incredibly inconsistent player judging by his career stats, I'd say .280-.300, about 20 HR's, 90-100 RBI's is his total upside. If there's better free agents out there then go for it.
Ill agree with Philly22 on this one, there probably wont be better FAs then Hidalgo. You probably should have traded him at the beginning of the season when he was really hot, because you knew he would cool off.

Hidalgo is not all that good. He has been a starter since 1999 and has averaged more like .270, 24 HR, 79 RBI. Good, but not great. Those career stats are inflated by a great 2000 season (.314, 44 HR, 122 RBI). If you took that year away, he is simply an average outfielder.
He had a really good year last year (.309, 28 HR 88 RBI) but in 2002 was less than stellar (.235, 15, 48). He strikes out about twice as much as he walks.
He actually is very inconsistent and there probably are better players on the WW, especially in smaller league (10 teams or less).
I'd say in a H2H league, he will kill you some weeks and be your hero other weeks. In roto he is too inconsistent to keep.
