I wouldn't hesitate to drop Nen. It's looking pretty bad right now and there's no sign of his returning. If he's having this much difficulty returning it's also no sure bet that he will pitch well when he does return.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Bench Furcal. Cox said he's not going on the DL but he doesn't know when he's going to start again. Pick up Jack Wilson. No one is talking about him but he's hot so far this year.
I think now would be a good time to buy low. As a Furcal owner I'm pissed and can't stand it anymore. I really don't know what it will take to get him though, depends upon the needs of the team.
I wish Wilson was available, the only viable option is Valentin, which isn't that bad. The problem is who to drop.
the thing that bothers me with furcal is, he banged it up....the xrays came up NEGATIVE. its not broken, its "sprained" .. after 2 weeks, a sprained ring finger shouldn't keep an athlete out of a baseball game.
and an estimate of how long it will take to get him back in the line up shouldn't be impossible either.
I wouldn't hesitate dropping Nen either. Rotoworld this morning reported that the Giants sent him home.
As for Furcal, sometimes sprains linger longer than breaks. Have you ever jammed a finger? It hurts big time. And as a previous post mentioned, it's his throwing that is affected, not hitting.
