Points league, 15 points for pitcher wins, -3 per loss. 5 pts per complete game, shutout, hold, save. 1 pt. for K's, -1 for walks. 4 pts. per homer, 3 per triple, 2 per double, 1 per single, walk, run, rbi, sb, hbp.
Yeah once Nomar and Sexson come back you should be OK. You could also stand to upgrade your SP some since wins mean so much and the other stats aren't as valuable, which is how it appears you have built your staff, but you could still help by getting another ace. As far as who to drop, you could probably drop some of your marginal pitchers. Guys like Reitsma and Hernandez (because wins mean so much and he won't get too many with the Expos. ) I like that team when everyone starts hitting, but being a relatively shallow league you need a good lineup just to compete probably.
Most of your problem is pitching, I would say. You have Mussina, who has been terrible so far. You have Livan, who has been good, but plays for a team that doesn't win very often.
If you are preparing for the return of those guys, I would definitely try to do some 2 for 1 trades, because none of your hitter are really bad enough to drop. Think about tying to upgrade your pitching. Something like Furcal and Buerhle for a top end pitcher (find a team who needs HELP at SS), or Teixeira and a pitcher for an upgrade (if it's not a keeper league, you can still do a lot better than Teixiera).
Cool, and yes, that helps a lot! Furcal and Buehrle for a top tier pitcher, maybe like Pedro, Schilling, Vazquez? Or is that too much to ask for? Thanks again.
I'm up to 4th now, what a difference a week makes, huh?!!? I picked up Affeldt as well, hopefully he won't blow any more saves... any more thoughts, other than how much it sucks that I had Sexson for one day!!!!!!!!!!
