that's what i'd prefer to do too, but i've got a full DL, Dmitri Young, Jose Reyes, and Austin Kearns. If I pick up Burnett I can move him to the DL and move Kearns to the active roster (he returns tuesday). Looking at Arroyo's previous starts this year, I'm not so sure he's going to keep it up. He may have shut down the Blue Jays, but as we all remember, so did Matt Riley.
the move may actually be to simply pick up burnett before anyone else gets to him and also realizing the fact taht i doubt anyone is gonna pick up eaton so im not losin anything really... At the same time, im pickin up the best guy available: arroyo
there is no doubt that eaton has talent and some pretty good stuff. The only reason i would drop him is that no one would pick up a guy with a 5.50 era. Therefore, im safe in the fact that i can pick him back up whenever i want.
i benched him based on his last start and im more than just glad
i still think that he'll turn it around, just too much potential... also lookin at the splits hes had a quite a few really bad first couple of innings and then hes been a lot better... his ERA after pitch 45 is just a tiny bit over 1.00 . coincidence or maybe just a case of nervousness to start off cos the Padres are counting on him for something for the first time in his short career ???

I agree. Although these last starts have really sucked he's too good to waive. I may bench him his next start though.
