as for he payroll: The Giants got the 2nd most amount of money last year (2nd to the Yankees) and their owner put it in his pockett. The Giants and Yankees are set up the same wasy, they have 10 owners but the difference is, is that the Yankees invest the money back into the team and the Giants keep the money.

Unless you're like Boras and don't believe the published reports, SF was 7th in team revenue. They brought in $153M and they spent (between payroll and operating costs) $152.3M. Leaving them with $0.7M.

Sabean is no overrated.. he made the Giants who they are.

I'm not saying he's bad. He's made some great moves and trades, and the Giants have had a good run. He's also made many *terrible* moves and trades, and he is frequently referred to as some kind of God of GMs. I wouldn't be upset to see him go. Felipe too.

(Remember the Giants have not had a losing season since he beacme the SF GM).

Giants will be near the bottom of the west this year, thats my predicition. Their pitching is less than stellar and besides Barry, their hitting is downright pathetic. The Rockies will keep them out of the cellar though . Im gonna say the Padres will win the division, as I forsee the Dodgers choking at the end of the season.
