I'd stick with Kolb for now, especially with PHI headed to COL.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
I wouldn't drop Kolb for anyone but one of the top stud Closers out there. The guy has been as good as almost anyone over the past 162 games of baseball, his only problem is his K's are a little low.
K/BB is one place where Kolb is kinda weak but his Atl-Mon-Pit stretch looks pretty good for some saves.
and i think that both Kolb and Francisco Cordero get the joint most underrated closer award. also just for this year, honorable mention to Armando Benitez.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
My dumb ass traded Kolb and Herges away to get Wagner. Bummer.
How can that trade possibly be bad?
Not saying Kolb is as good as Wagner, but the total number of saves they get will be very comparable...and Herges isn't as bad as everyone thinks. I think Kolb and Herges combined will definitely get more saves than Wagner, by a wide margin. The rest of their numbers won't be great, but saves are what really matters.

not saying thats wrong but someone like Herges can really spoil your ratios, basically meaning in a way that those saves are worthless. Kolb and Herges combined also take up one more roster spot than Wagner. anyways the only thing bad i can see about that trade is that Wagner got injured as soon as he made that deal . otherwise without seeing any roster id def woulda taken the Wagner side before the injury.
