Possible Bad News on Glaus...OUCH

"Anaheim slugger Troy Glaus had an MRI performed on his injured shoulder and knee, and the exams revealed that his shoulder problem is frighteningly similar to the injury that cut his 2003 season short last July. The sprained knee ligament Glaus is sporting is nowhere near as disturbing to the Angels as the potentially torn throwing shoulder that may land him on the disabled list. "Our plan right now is that he'll be back," general manager Bill Stoneman told the Los Angeles Times. "We're not making a roster move, so as of now, we hope he'll be back sooner than the 15-day disabled list period…The information I got was that the knee will resolve itself in short order." Glaus is off to one of the hottest starts in baseball this season, batting .296 with 11 homers, 28 RBI, and 29 runs scored."


I hope that shoulder isn't as bad as it sounds.
Looks like Figgins might become a regular in this lineup

I read that but I also read that he may DH the rest of the year to play through it...as well as move to 1B

They said the injury will have no effect on his hitting. However it will on his fielding. He just can't play third base anymore. I'd expect to see Chone Figgins take his spot for a while. Maybe the Angels might be inclined to even bring up their hot prospect, Dallas McPherson (who is expected to take Glaus' place next year) before the year is done.

Against the Yankees, I saw him grimacing quite often at the plate.

Wow, ok. I was offered a trade of either blalock/bonds for schilling or glaus/bonds for schilling. I'm taking blalock now, even though I'd rather have glaus if both were healthy.
