Just an update from yesterday's thread saying that Boone will be out 5-6 games.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brett Boone reported that his strained left hip muscle is feeling better, and that he would take batting practice today with the hope of playing tomorrow.
Mariners' manager Bob Melvin may have other ideas, as he would prefer to sit Boone out the entire weekend series against the Yankees to ensure his injury fully heals. In either case, it looks as if Boone will be safe to start next week.

I don't know ... I'm in Seattle area and local media (radio, papers) are all saying info from the club is that he sits 6 games. Not "a week" or "about" six games. A real precise number. I think Melvin wants to shut him down for a spell between the back and hip so he doesn't just keep tweaking one thing while compensating for something else.

boone haters:

and see what your production is at the end of the season.

Boone is szill on pace for a 33HR, 95RBI and 10 SB season. And he has been playing hurt. Forget the average. That will take care of itself.
Unless you trade for Soriano, you won't get those numbers at second base. Not even from the spectacular Orlando Hudson.

agree with d18Mike. I would love to get Boone. Unless he's injured for a long period of time, he'll still hit 30, hit .290 and score 90 runs...the only thing he may see a rather large drop in is RBI b/c his team sux.
Alan Trammell should be in the Hall

Somebody in my league happened to drop Boone and he is on waivers. I think he will replace my current 2B, Castillo. I just hope he does not dissapoint.

That owner's moves manages to be both idiotic and surprising all at once ...
Idiotic: What kind of idiot would drop Boone?
Surprising: Boone is undroppable in almost every league I know of.
