So far, he's still only given up one run, but he is getting shelled for 5 Hits and 2 BB through 2+ Innings. Last time he was @ TOR he sucked too. What gives?

The announcers mentioned that Schilling has an ankle that "flares up" from time to time and that he needs to pitch through it. Apparently he "tweaked" it in a previous appearance. At one point in the game Veritek called out the manager and the trainer to talk to Schilling. They all left the mound and Schilling continued to pitch. The announcers said it is his push-off ankle (i.e. the one on rubber) that gives him the problem. I don't know if there is anything to this issue, but I would be interested to know if anyone has any more info on it.

I don't think the ankle was really affecting his pitching.
