hes only good for situational starts against righties. He hits lefties like crap, look at his splits.

I really like him. I like his composure at the plate and how he runs out every hit. He has always hit for good average but that wasn't getting him anywhere. He then realized he needed to hit for more power which is what he started doing last year. The sb's were unexpected from me.

ive been thinking of picking him up as well. Is a worth a shot to drop Patterson or Phelps for him? If so, which one?

That's right. I posted about this in another thread. It's a huge difference. Still, if you've got someone you can platoon him with when he's facing lefties, Gerut is real nice to have.
