Bay has great potential and has been off the DL now for almost a week. He's got power and can hit for average. He's the projected cleanup hitter for the Pirate organization for years to come. Today, he's hitting back to back games at Coors. Today will be the day Bay plays to stay.
(And then we can go by the bay, and eat some hay -- what do you say?)

Thanks
And all I'm saying is that it is a good risk to pick Bay up out of free agency today if you can -- because he won't be there long if he lights it up tonight.
I'm starting him ahead of Andruw Jones today. Considering how horrible Jones has been playing, it doesn't really hurt me all that much to take the gamble.

I would sure like to drop Winn or Grissom for him (bench players) but hesitant to pull the trigger. You are right though and if he breaks out today he will be snatched up quickly by someone.

I would drop Winn or Grissom for him. But, would you drop Hidalgo or Burrell for him?

Next time you make a bold prediction (I do agree that Bay is ready to break out), you might want to check the weather first:
Denver weather from Yahoo:
Rain and snow showers this morning. The rain and snow will change to rain showers by the afternoon hours. Cold. High 47F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precip 50%.

Definitely Not. Hidalgo's a great hitter!

Being touted as the best hitter on the Pirates is a little like being touted as the world's tallest midget.
