Damon to shave with purpose: Sox center fielder Johnny Damon will shave his beard at a charitable event in Boston on May 21.

Gillette will sponsor the event by donating $15,000 to -- at the wishes of Damon -- the Boston Public Library.

"The beard is going to go, but it's for a great cause," Damon said. "Thanks to Gillette, a lot of kids are going to be able to go to the public libraries and learn more and get into reading. The kids are our future, and Gillette is making that possible. The library seems very happy about it."

yeah, it was dissapointing to hear that my idol is going to cut off his holy bunches of hair but at least its for a "good cause".
