This was a great tactic in my futility league last year...
Hah futility league. Thanks for the great idea. Nice spin on things that I'm going to try out next season.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Can't take credit (or blame ) for the idea - an amigo of mine came up with this while watching an Orioles-Blue Jays game several years ago. Go figure...
Anyway, I'm sure many others have thought of this as well. It is an interesting twist, though.
It makes some sense. Like today for example, you get 2 games at Coors. I'm sitting an ailing Bret Boone for Jack wilson. I think the key question is, do you have a roster space for WW player? Next series, grab someone like Marlon Byrd
Burnitz will jack 40, or very close to that. The guy is a fine power hitter even when not in Coors - a lock for 30+ as long as he gets consistent ab's.
I waived Julio Lugo for Rolls Royce Clayton since he has the doubleheader at Coors and I need to make up a couple games at short, we'll see how it goes
