Not on my Fantasy Team, I picked Zambrano up...but not good for the Cubbies. Hopefully, he's just lost it. Now we'll really see how 'deep' (sic) the Cubs' bullpen is...yikes!!

uh o

Last ace pitcher that left a game w/ an "undisclosed injury" was Mulder last year after 3 innings.

He ended up being done for the year.

Now im not sayin wood is out or anything, im just sayin undisclosed injuries are BAD NEWS

and the cubs cant afford BOTH prior and wood on the DL. 8-o 8-o

I don't have Kerry Wood on any team, I just wanted to say that I feel for you guys who do. I don't really personally like the guy either and I'm a Reds fan, but I hope he's not injured seriously.

It's a bit premature to panic, but it's a pretty sure thing that high pitch counts don't help arms with a history of injury. It would be a shame if Dusty Baker's bull headed ways ended up hurting one of the game's young stars.

So far...

Wood apparently was hurt while hitting, which is good news.

Did he get hit with a pitch? They're reporting on the Cubs.com fan forum that his elbow was about the size of a softball and he was being taken for an MRI.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
