O's Tejada leaves game with leg injury

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Baltimore Orioles shortstop Miguel Tejada left Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox with an apparent leg injury.

The injury occurred while Tejada was reeling in a throw from outfielder Larry Bigbie in the first inning. He was briefly looked at by trainers before gingerly hobbling off the field and into the clubhouse.

Tejada, who agreed to a $72 million, six-year deal with Baltimore back in December, entered Tuesday's action batting .339 with four home runs and 25 RBI.

Looked as though he may have strained a calf muscle. Hopefully, nothing more serious.

5/12/04 Tejada left Tuesday's game with muscle cramps in front of his right shin. Tejada vows to play on Wednesday but he is listed as day-to-day.

Just found this at CBS Sports:

The Baltimore Sun reports that Miguel Tejada (shin) thinks he will play at the White Sox Wednesday. "I'm going to play [Wednesday]," he said. "I can walk good. I don't feel any pain."
