Brewers demote Hernandez

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Milwaukee designated pitcher Adrian Hernandez for assignment Tuesday and purchased the contract of pitcher Matt Wise from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Hernandez, who went 0-2 with an 8.44 earned run average this season for the Brewers, made his only start May 8.

He allowed three runs -- two earned -- in 4 1/3 innings and didn't get the decision in a 6-4 win over the New York Mets.

In his three-year career, Hernandez is 0-6 with a 6.55 ERA.
