I see Delgado has been slow out of the gate this year. Is he injured? Getting old (like Boone)? Traditionally a slow starter? I was thinking about making a pitch for him b/c his numbers can be huge and he's very streaky, so I wanted to jump on him now if possible....thoughts?
Alan Trammell should be in the Hall

I've been lurking on this site for a few months now. This ONE message put me over the top. I HAD to register after reading this response.
2 good years ??? Are you serious ???
Since 1998 Carlos Delgado has hit over 33 HR's, had over 102 RBI's and scored over 100 runs EVERY YEAR SINCE 1998.
Thats 6 straight years.
I wish I had more people like acsguitar in my league.
One of the funniest things I've read in quite some time. "2 good years" LOL.

No he's not a slow starter -- you might remember that at the AS break last year he was about on track to set the RBI record. Then he faded. I attribute this largely to the fact that I traded for him at that time.
The rumor is that he has/is playing with a bum knee since at least last July. It's certainly not anything that keeps him out of the lineup, but I suspect it has hurt his performance. That turf takes its toll. I stayed away from him this year because I "suffered" with him in the second half of 2003.
