As to his timing, it's simply going to happen occasionally. He's not getting pitched to, so his timing is a little off. Completely understandable. How quickly can he correct it is the question........
Timing is the key issue here, and over the course of the season it really shouldn't be a big deal (although from last year on he will be getting increasingly fewer ab's due to walks and injuries). There are going to be times when he is ridiculously on fire, like the 7 game stretch earlier, and times when he is ice cold, like now.
The constant walks definately hurt him, but he is so ridiculously good that he will snap out of it (then he will go through it again, and snap out of it, etc.)
He's still almost a league leader in a lot of offensive categories, so there really isn't anything to be worried about at this point (although if I owned him his recent cold streak would have me thinking about it). When you are feeling bad now, just think how good you felt during his tear earlier in the year. They are going to come in bunches.
