well, Roberts and Hairston will probably both play. It all depends on all well Hairston does coming back from the injury. He probably wont start at 2nd because Roberts has been crazy good. Most likely he will DH instead of BJ Surhoff :-P

I can't imagine where Mazzilli is going to put Hairston once he is ready. The lineup is set at the top so I would guess perhaps in the #9 hole.

When the fragile Hairston went down last season Roberts did very well as a replacement. Now we're seeing Roberts continue a solid baseball career to date and he deserves nothing but the comfort of knowing he is the man at 2B. He probably already has been told this for all we know.

well when hairston comes back he will play DH and Roberts will play 2nd. Hairston will probably start out in a huge slump on the count of his very poor hitting during his rehab asignment, however, his payoff will eventually be huge this year (as big as Roberts?) I also heard that he is going to get traded and is most likely going to ask for a trade, so all of you Robertsand Hairston owners can stop shaking with fear about pt.

Expect one of the two to be traded by July.

For now, though, he's a great pickup.
I'm back. Sorta.

Are the Yankees still interested in one of them? Hairston could be a real sleeper right now, and Id grab him if you can make the room.

Seriously - if anyone has heard recent rumblings from the Yankees regarding their 2b situation, could you please post it or provide a link?

Heard some speculation Roberts could shift to CF for the struggling Matos while Hairston plays 2b. This didn't come from Mazzilli, though, and it assumes Hairston gets hot and Matos keeps struggling.

About the Yankees and second base...M. Cairo is playing decently and is actually pretty clutch..so i don't think the yankees will go for him..They realy don't need another bat...they need pitching
