Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Diamondbacks Monday placed pitcher Oscar Villarreal on the 15-day disabled list due to strained tendons in his right forearm.
Villarreal, who set a National League rookie record with his 86 appearances last year, said he injured the arm in Sunday night's game against Philadelphia.
This is the same injury that plagued the righthander in spring training.
On the season, Villarreal is 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA. He also leads the NL with five wild pitches after having just three of all last year.
To fill Villarreal's roster spot, Arizona recalled right-handed pitcher Andrew Good from Triple-A Tucson.
