Predictions in the future for this 8 team league team?

Postby DK » Tue Mar 25, 2003 8:29 pm

its an office league and its for supreme bragging rights. remember only 8 teams in league, so don't judge on a 12 team league.

C Rodriguez, Ivan
1B Thome, Jim
2B Durham, Ray
3B Hinske, Eric
SS Rodriguez, Alex
OF Ordonez, Magglio
OF Beltran, Carlos
OF Anderson, Garret
Util Bagwell, Jeff
Util Damon, Johnny
Bench Sexson, Richie
Bench Garcia, Karim
SP Colon, Bartolo
SP Mulder, Mark
SP Millwood, Kevin
SP Brown, Kevin
RP Williams, Mike
RP Percival, Troy
P Foulke, Keith
P Wakefield, Tim
P Graves, Danny
Bench Mussina, Mike

as you might be able to tell, i had the awful burden of first pick. i chose a-rod and was shocked to see maggs fall to 16th. i picked him up as soon as the team before me took zito with 15.
i know hinske probably won't repeat, but workings are underway for chavez. im offering hinske and GA, acceptance?

oh yeah, also, put where you predict my team will fall.

thanks a lot.

I like the deal.....Hinske is due to for a soph slump. Chavez is an MVP candidate. You can dump Anderson and throw Damon in the OF. Try to dump Sexson and K. Brown for some speed. You have plenty of power. Brown is due for his annual DL invitation soon. Maybe some relief as well, Williams had a fluke season. No way he'll get 40-50 saves again.

Uuuugh, dude this is a stacked team. You have no glaring weaknesses, although as this is an eight-team league, I suspect that most of the other teams also don't have glaring weaknesses.

You maybe could use a bit more speed, but you will get good speed from Durham, Beltran and Damon and above-average speed from Hinske, Bagwell and Ordonez (and perhaps a return to 20-ish steals for Maggs?)....

Very nice SP. You have four of the top second-tier aces in Mussina, Mulder, Colon and Millwood and a very good group of closers. The K Brown pick has me befuddled, simply because I've seen it on so many teams posted on these boards and I don't know why; I think he's finished.....

Certainly, it would seem that you would be in the running for those much-vaunted "supreme bragging rights".......good luck!

I would start Mussina over Graves, Wakefield, or Brown.
