Ramirez to be sworn in as U.S. citizen

Postby WebHamster » Mon May 10, 2004 7:00 pm

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Boston Red Sox outfielder Manny Ramirez is not expected to be in the starting lineup for Monday's game against Cleveland because he is being sworn in as a United States citizen.

The Red Sox have won four of their last five games and currently hold a one- game lead over the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East.

Ramirez is batting .369 with eight homers and 21 RBI in 31 games this season.

Brian Daubach will start in left field in place of Ramirez.
