White Sox activate Wunsch, send him to minors

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox activated pitcher Kelly Wunsch off the 15-day disabled list Monday and optioned the lefthander to Triple-A Charlotte.

Wunsch, 31, was placed on the disabled list before the season started with an inflamed left teres minor muscle.

He was assigned to Charlotte on April 10 on an injury rehabilitation assignment and was 0-0 with a 4.26 ERA in nine appearances with the Knights.

In four major league seasons, all with the White Sox, Wunsch is 10-5 with a 3.69 ERA. He was solid in 43 appearances during 2003, recording a 2.75 ERA with no decisions in 36 innings of work.
