5K's in 2.1...and a save. VERY impressive.

possibly a little bit to do with that.....Mostly i think it was simply a NON save situation anyway. They were up by 4 in the 9th why bring in percival if KROD is pitching well. Just your typical 2 inning save situation/ Non save situationfor the normal closer.

He definitely has the potential to be a great closer. ;-D

Very nice. Now he has a save to go along with his W earlier, not to mention 17 innings of near perfect pitching with a 0era and a ridiculous 28K's.

theyve put percival in in similar situations earlier in the year, i remember one where they were up (i think) three or four, k-rod and struck out three straight in the 8th, but they put percival in in the nineth (iirc, he got the save, but after putting a couple on base)

keyword is potential. too bad percival already owns the position and is extremely unlikely to use it. percival has almost the same kind of tenure in anaheim that rivera has in NY.

Definitely. Only way Percival would lose the job is because of injury, or extreme ineffectiveness which is very unlikely. Besides, even if K-Rod is better at this point, no reason to mess with a good thing.

Percival on the trade block? Im an Angels fan and although is may be herecy to say it...The Halos have some good set up guys so I dont think they would be losing too much by dealing Percy and they could get some value from a team that needs a closer for their run...K-Rod = stud closer!

agreed....barromg a total meltdown or injury there is no reason to pull percival.....for the future though and keeper leagues Krods value skyrockets. Percival has said he plans to retire(ofcourse that has to be taken with a grain of salt), and KROD is much cheaper.
Even for the short term he is a good enough middle releiver. Hell he leads my damn team in K's. Admittedly that is both a condemnation of my starters and a sign of how good he is.
