Ligtenberg got a save today & pitched well

Postby Members Only Jackets » Sun May 09, 2004 3:50 pm

Desperate for saves in my American League Only Yahoo League, I picked up Ligtenberg today after he was dropped by someone yesterday. He got his first save and looked good in doing so! Yeah I know, Toronto's closer situation is in more termoil than Iraq..but hey, I'm desperate.

Is there a good chance he'll become their everday closer?

I hope not -- I did the opposite of you! I dupmed Lightenburg and picked up Adams last week, It looks like CBC. So we'll both probably lose! :-)

Yeah, that's true. I was watching the game. They had Adams, warmed-up, arms folded in the bullpen waiting to come in. Ligthenberg thew some great pitches to Thomas and Konerko -- but Adams was looming.

Adams is still the closer. He pitched in 2 straight games so they gave him some rest and let Ligtenburg finish it out.

Well Marte will probably get the job soon. Koch has returned to bein terrible, walking 5 batters in his last 2 IP, as well as giving up 2 hits in that same span. He somehow managed to get 2 saves in those 2 outings though. Who knows how long the ChiSox will leave him out there.

Tough call. I've always been partial to Marte, but Chicago doesn't seem to want to use him as a closer. Then again, Toronto has 5 closer candidates. However Adams has been named closer, and has been good lately. So I guess Marte. Who are your other options?
