Casey Kotchman is coming to the bigs!

Reports are saying that Kotchman will indeed start today for the Angels.

A radio was quoted to have said:
Kotchman will bat 7th in the order this afternoon.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. Zambrano is a good pitcher so he'll be tested.

This is a big deal is because a player hitting .260 with a .298 OBP (Erstad) was able to smack 20RBI's in this lineup.

Woowwee I hope Yahoo adds him on soon because I'm itching to add him.

I'm with you Pedantic: when are the Twins going to call up Morneau? The guy is tearing it up. And I have him in a few keeper leagues }:-) I thought LeCroy being out would mean a callup for Morneau, but I guess not. Lew Ford hitting the way he is doesn't help things either.

Would you pick him up in a nonkeeper H2H 12 team league? Also do you believe he's going to play the entire season?

that depends on two things
1) how well he hits when he is here.. who knows.. .he is 0/2 with an RBI today
2) how long erstad is out with the injury. I can see him being out up to about 2 months after what I saw yesterday... it didn't seem like a minor strain.

Oh no. It's the Matt Riley situation all over again. That said, I'm going to pick this guy up. Who to drop?

Carlos Pena (Det-1B)
Trent Hafner (Cle-1B)
Marlon Byrd (Phi-CF)
Jose Contreras (NYY-SP)
Billy Koch (CWS-RP)
Brett Myers (Phi-SP)

Also want to pick up Figgins and Madson (once Myers gets shelled tonight).

Casey Kotchman is probably one of the top 10 prospects in baseball-think along the lines of Rios, Weeks, Upton, Fielder, Morneau, etc.

good break for the kid, he was tearing it up in Arkansas. the Angels are frightening good in the Minors too. and amen to whoever said let's see Morneau get the call-my league isn't keeper, but I think Justin is as sure a thing as Dontrelle/Cabrera.

Kotchman is a much better prospect then Riley, so no it's not the same thing. That being said no prospect is a sure thing, but this kid can rake like there is no tomorrow.

Since Contreras isn't even in the majors right now, I'd go with him.

I'd drop Koch, I wouldn't continue wasting your time with the guy.
