I'm in an extremely competitive 10 team league, and I awas browsing the WW, and saw to my great surprise that some had WAIVED Hinske. I used my #2 priority to make a spot for him...If the #1 guy doesn't pick him up he's mine.
How do you guys think he will far for the rest of the year?
Hes been really inconsistent this year, sometimes he hits a homer, than he 0-4s the next 2-3 games. I think his rookie year was a fluke and that this is the Hinske we can expect. If you need him to start for you, you may be in big trouble.
Oh he wont be starting, I got Miggy there. The reason I posted is because I didn't know a whole lot about the guy, besides his good year last year...it looks like waiving him wasn't as big a reach as I originally thought...thanks for the responce.
He had an awful year last year. His RotY came in 2002, where he was pretty good. Unfortunetly, in 2003 and 2004, hes looked like the 2nd coming of Eric Karros . Check out his stats last year, they were ugly.
i have had him all year and just recently dropped him. i was hoping and hoping but nothing. just 3 home runs and when he goes 0 for 4 in a game it is painful because he strikes out 2 or 3 of those. no consistency. dont add him until he proves himself.
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. Rogers Hornsby
He's slowly raising his batting average up. He's been caught stealing twice. I'm just holding on to him until he has some more trade value and ship him off. Plus we count walks and he is doing a decent job at that.
Hinske is actually one of my favorite third baseman in the game. Hes a big guy with a good glove that has above average power. Foprget last year, he had a broken hand for God sakes! If you are willing to give up about .20 in average (He'll hit somewhere near .270) hes a good deal because he has good players batting in front and he has power.
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!
