Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Los Angeles Dodgers leftfielder and leadoff hitter Dave Roberts was placed on the 15-day disabled list after Friday's 4-0 win at Pittsburgh.
Roberts had been sidelined by a strained right hamstring since suffering the injury in last Tuesday's 4-3, 11-inning victory at Florida. Roberts was injured while trying to steal second base in the first inning. He was thrown out on the play -- the first time in 16 attempts that Roberts was caught stealing this season.
The 31-year-old Roberts is batting .265 with a .382 on-base percentage and 15 stolen bases. He has one home run and nine RBI.
To fill the void on the roster, the Dodgers recalled second baseman Joe Thurston from Triple-A Las Vegas. Thurston was batting .247 with one homer and seven RBI in 26 games for the 51s.
