Wasn't Rocky Biddle supposed to suck?

Postby Dr.DooM » Sat May 08, 2004 9:44 pm

I've been reading for months how the Expo's closer was supposed to be on "shakey ground" or "on borrowed time." But Rocky's been fairly solid so far converting most of his saves. He's not lights out but has been fairly consistent so far. Tonight, he got his second straight save in two days without allowing a single hit or walk.

Is it time to drop Chad Cordero and Luis Ayala? I don't see them taking over anytime soon.

Biddle hasnt been nearly as impressive as one Jose Mesa, who has an ungodly sub 1 ERA with 9 saves. And to think this guy was a last round pick to WW dweller!

everyone tells me to keeep dropping him, but i agree give the guy some time to pick him self up he hasnt lost the job yet and saves are hard to come by, a least let him convert a few saves and then trade him... honestly im glad i didnt drop him.

dude, it's may.

do you think rocky biddle is going to be there in september holding down the job with authori-tah?

evidently, from talking to people at the cubs/expos series early last seasn, he's a great guy. so i pull for him, but still, i dont expect him to be a closer for any longer than his current stint in the m-t-l

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

I think biddle has been good in save situations, but has blown up most times when he was put in in junk duty.

Biddle has not been very good. He's actually just about as bad as last year.

As for the person asking about Cordero/Ayala: I'd drop Ayala unless your league counts holds. He isn't closer material. Cordero is another story, but unless he can regain his control, he won't be taking over for Biddle either.
