Oswalt thread that's actually about Oswalt

Since the other one was hijacked, lets talk about the Astro Ace's current outing and season prospects here.

Just struck out two more in the 7th - he's dominating now, and keeping the pitch count down so he should go the distance.

His ERA and WHIP are great this year and Ks have been solid. Wins will come if he keeps pitching like this. I spent my 3rd rounder on him and so far I'm happy with the return.

Oswalts been pretty good. He may win the Cy Young, but Kerry Wood has just been amazing, and I think he'll win it.

Yeah I'm loving Oswalt this season and think he'll only get better as the Stro's heat up.

As much as I love Oswalt my money would be on Wood for the Cy. His K numbers are just ridiculous and he has better name recognition. Wins, always an overrated stat in grading pitchers, could be the deciding factor.

Why did you make this thread? Oz just gave up a hit and nailed somebody in the head...
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

the problem with Wood is that he always has a game or two each year where he gives up 5+ walks in a game. These are the games that bring his numbers back down to earth a little. The only thing standing in Oswalt's way is his health, which is always on the mind of his owner's. This may be the season he finally shows his true potential and gets more than 20 wins.

There was once a man who threw really hard. He had a little bit of a control problem. Just like Kerry Wood. He was also from Texas, just like Kerry Wood. That man is one of the best pitchers of all time. That mans name is Nolan Ryan. Woods control problems shrink every outing, and he looks more and more dominant. Look for Wood to be talked about as one of the best pitchers of all time 20 years from now. (And yes I just compared Wood to Nolan Ryan)

jimini williams really needs to learn when to take his pitchers out. The first walk should have been the clue there. after all, doesn't houston have a *goooood* bull-pen?
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.
