Thats a tough one. Both have good upside. Barry Bonds did say that O Perez was the toughest pitcher that he has faced but Ainsworth pitches for a better team so he should get more wins. Also, I wonder if Perez's arm is a bit tired after pitching so many innnings. It may look like I'm suggesting picking up Ainsworth but you can't discount the fact that a Hall of Fame player, like him or not, said that Perez was the toughest pitcher he faced (don't know if that was ever or last year). Either way thats a huge compliment. Flip a coin or make a trade and free a spot to have them both - who knows? I'm 50/50 on this one.
Swing hard, just in case you hit the ball.

this probably wont help decide but...
Ainsworth had something like a 3.75 era last year in aaa... the aaa league he is in is offense happy and that era is considered quite good. I've read analysis in the past that projected the same era when we got a starting job for the giants. He also has good k potential. If he got 170 ip I think 135 k would be a good expectation.
If you got Ainsworth, you might want to start him at home initially to see how he does without inflating your era and whip.

Perez is going to have a tough time winning with that crappy squad on the coast.
Depends on needs. I think they will have similar ERAs, Ainsworth a slightly better WHIP. Question is ...do you want wins or K's.
K= Perez
W= Ainsworth
I have always said that K's are easier to predict than wins, so that is where I would lean.
You don't need a quadraphonic Blaupunkt, what you need is a curveball!....
