Both of these guys had high hopes before the season started. Who is the better bet to turn it around and be the pitcher we all thought we were getting?
I am actually leaning toward Piniero since he has been a starter for a few years and Santana is now playing his first season as a starter. But Santana's K/9's are ard to ignore......

I'm going with Pineiro, I think both will bounce back, Pineiro will just bounce better!

I think both will, but I think Pineiro is the better pitcher.

to me the difference between pineiro and santana is that when santana is on he's lights out... pineiro has never shown that, he's always been an above average pitcher, but he's never been truly dominant and he's always been inconsistent... truthfully i think both these guys will be good starters this year, but i think santana will be better... if i had to pick one over the other, i'd take santana any day of the week...

I'll take Santana pretty easily. He's a lefty in a weak division.
Piniero's velocity has been down most of the year. The one thing Piniero has is a favorable home ballpark. He's least likely of the two to bounce back IMO

Another difference between the two is that Piniero is a starter, while Santana is a reliever currently starting.
