That's because, as Mike MacDougal exclaimed after blowing a save in the ninth, this one “really (stunk).” As for MacDougal, he not only lost the game but also, apparently, his job as the club's closer.
“I said in spring training that it was his job to lose,” Peña said, “but we're trying to win ballgames. It's not about development this year.
“As much as I would like to keep him in, I'm going to have to wait to use him in the right situation.”
