He's out (on the DL), they called up Chase Utely from triple a to take his place. I for one hope he stays up this time, the kid can really hit.

Looks like platoon time in Philly, with Utley/Perez. I'm not so sold on Utley...decent hitter, but let's not overhype the guy. He's a .270 type in the bigs, 10-15 HR, handful of SB's....maybe.

Remember that the pay (or sponsored) roto-sites have a tendency to get really excited about every prospect coming along, and since these sites themselves are wildly overrated, the sheep mentality takes over and all of a sudden everybody's a star in the making. The pay sites pump everyone up so that when they get one right, they can brag about it and tell everyone how sharp they are. Of course, they don't tell you about the guys they missed by a mile on. Fortunately, most of the readers have short memories as well, so the ploy works.

Utley is worth a grab in deep NL only leagues, or universals where you've got holes in the MI.

very good point, but my post wasn't intended to say go out and grab him quick. i personally just like the kid, also if they keep him up he can post better numbers then that. not saying he is a lock to, but he defiantly can. it's not like he can hit any worse the most of the phillies have been hitting.

BTW, that is excellent news ....

Not for Placido of course, but for me .... :-D

See, I own Placido in a deep NL only league and quite honestly he has sucked so far this season. I am sure you all know about his (1) total RBI. Its not his fault that he has Rollins, the Pitcher and then Byrd hitting in from him. As soon as they fire that crack head Bowa, things will change ... you'll see ..

anyways, I had Placido at 3B .... ouch.
But here is the delimna ....
I also have Bay coming of the DL and needed a roster spot for him. I have Larson at UT so he can just drop down to 3B and Bay gets his slot at UT ...... and Placido gets the DL, maybe for a long time ...

Funny how Roto Baseball works that way sometimes ....
I was just about to start a thread in here asking which one to drop

April kicked my ass ...
May seems to be going better ..

I'll battle on .. :-D
