Nomar Garciaparra, on the DL with Achilles' tendinitis, went through his most extensive workout before Friday's game.
"He took 10 minutes of grounders and then hit off the tee and ran to first base," manager Terry Francona said. "He then ran the bases, took another three minutes of grounders, hit a double, and scored on a (practice) double. He was huffing and puffing, running about 70 to 80 percent. It went well and I think he'll do the same thing (Saturday)." It doesn't sound like Nomar likes the idea of sitting out another three-plus weeks. He still could try to return this month.
I dont know what to think about this situation.Less than 6 hours ago the report was he had swelling and was out til June again. All this back and forth is making my head hurt!
