Anyone watching this game?? I wanna know how good Alverez really looks. I have Oliver Perez (luckily benched him tongiht) and I am thinking of dropping him for Alverez, good move?

I am. He looks good. he is not overpowering, but he seems to be keeping the hitters off balance well with speed changes and great location. I also think the ump has a somewhat large strike zone, which is probably helping alvarez.

I don't know if I'd drop perez for alvarez, the fifth starter position for the dodgers is kind of a puzzle. if they call up jackson, for example, alvarez is likely to go back to the pen... one or two bad starts and it might be lima time again... any other thoughts on the iissue, guys?
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

I'm glad I picked him up. Everyone else should do the same provided he gets regular starts.

Perez didn't have that bad a game. 8Ks in 8 innings with a WHIP of 1. It's too bad he gave up that homer in the 7th though.

I wouldn't be too worried about Edwin Jackson and his 6+ ERA in the minors right now.

My thoughts - anybody that pitches like Alvarez pitched tonight is guaranteed at LEAST one more start. If he does it again, he'll get 2 more starts. If he continues, he'll become the #3 or 4 starter and bump everyone else down.

But that's just my thoughts...
