I dropped Lieberthal a few weeks ago because I had both him and Charles Johnson. At the time Johnson was on fire but he's done nothing in a week or two, while Lieberthal I've noticed in the box scores is slowly heating up. Who do you see paying off in the long term, Charles in Colorado or Lieberthal?
long run i have to lean toward Lieberthal, Johnson went on a tear and was great for those two weeks, The Phillies as a whole are on the way up, If that lineup gets going, Lieberthal could put up some pretty good numbers.
Over the course of the year I think Lieberthal will be more valuable than CJ.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Alright, I know this post is starting to take a turn toward to the Trade/Free Agents Forum, but should I dump CJ now and get Lieberthal or should I maybe try to deal CJ while he's still got some value (not exactly sure how much though in my 8 team league) and then snag Lieberthal?
I drafted Lieberthal for both of my fantasy teams. I then picked up Johnson (and Estrada in the other league) about 10 ten days ago as a temporary solution until Lieberthal starts hitting. It looks like Lieberthal is starting to hit. On 4/21 he was hitting .133. Now, he's up to .233 going 11/35 since then (a .314 BA). Since April 21st, Johnson is hitting .193 (6/31). So I am left with the same question, who do I drop. I have Prior so when he comes back I have to drop one of them. It all depends on Lieberthal. He is the better hitter. If he is stroking the ball, it's no choice really, I'll drop Johnson...
