Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox Friday activated shortstop Jose Valentin from the 15-day disabled list.
The 34-year-old Valentin had been sidelined since April 19 with a strained left hamstring. In 11 games this season, Valentin is batting .271 (13-for-48) with four doubles, three home runs and eight RBI.
To make room for Valentin, the club outrighted infielder Kelly Dransfeldt to Triple-A Charlotte. Dransfeldt batted .333 with two RBI in seven contests for the White Sox.
