Yeah Pujoles is still the second best hitter in the league, but this year he won't have a better average then Beltran. Beltran's will be around 330-335 and Pujols will be around 315 in my opinion.

Did you just pick those numbers out of the air? Pujols his .359 last year what makes you think he'll drop 45 BA points? Beltran will be a ~.310 hitter. I'd bet my avatar that Pujols will have a better BA. But I already have my av wagered with Erboes, so I can't put that valuable piece of real estate in the pot.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
I agree it's a tough call. I'd probably take Pujols in a redraft and Beltran in a dynasty league. Next year when Beltran ends up with a team like the Yankees he is going to be even better.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Steals are more a commodity than most see (IMO) I like Beltran a little better simply on that fact. I will take 5 cats over great power most of the time.
And yes, in a keeper or Dynasty i would take Beltran even more over, with his contract coming to an end and all.
OK this may help:
8 man keeper league. I have podsednik already, so SB isnt a major concern. I am in need of help in the power hitting areas. SLG, RBI, HR...stuff like that, my average is mediocre. My other OFs are:
L Gonzalez
Matsui
V Wells
C Lee
Dye
Podsednik
R White
honestly, it depends on WHEN you are asking the question ...
Like If I had the number one pick going into this year, I go arod. BUT
If I knew in advance that I would have solid ss option, then I go pujols.
Much like now. If you have a huge basestealing threat, then I think you go pujols. But if you don't know, then I think it has to be beltran. Do you want a heck of a lot of four, or a lot of five? that is really the choice here.
I honestly had my rankings arod, beltran, pujols, soraino this year. people may call me crazy, but five cat is five cat. Imagine a pitcher who gets wins and saves, how much would he go for?
Well, beltran is basically that, except steals are a bit more plentiful than saves. if beltran goes 40 40 or even 35 40, this is moot, has to be beltran.

Ooh. That complicates things. Without a situation, I would personally go Beltran. But you have Pods, so steals arent a problem. Then again, its a keeper, and Beltran will be better than Pujols in the long run, especially if he goes to a better team. I say try to package Pujols and maybe Pods for Beltran and a power guy. That evens out the SB and the power, and gets you Beltran who will be better in the end.
